#1653 Expression and Clinical Significance of Somatostatin Receptor Subtype 2A in Small Cell Lung Carcinoma

Introduction: Somatostatin receptors (SSTRs) play a key role in the regulation of cell proliferation and have been identified in a proportion of aggressive poorly differentiated neuroendocrine neoplasms, including small cell lung carcinomas (SCLCs).

#1176 Clinical and Pathologic Characteristics of Small Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the Bladder

Introduction: Small cell carcinoma of the bladder (SCC) is a poorly differentiated neuroendocrine (NE) neoplasm accounting less than 1% of all bladder tumors, 1/3 are admixed with conventional urothelial carcinoma and hematuria is the most common clinical presentation. The unknown etiology and natural history of SCC represent a challenge for its diagnosis and treatment.

#855 Extrapulmonary Small Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the Colon in an 18-Year-Old Girl

Introduction: Extrapulmonary small cell carcinoma (EPSCC) is a very rare aggressive malignant tumor typical for older age. Prognosis of EPSCC remains very poor, with three years OS 38% and five years OS less than 13%. The median survival for GI localised EPSCC is only five months. Initial extent of disease is the most sensitive prognostic factor.

#720 Small-Cell Carcinoma of the Gallbladder: Case Report and Review of Literature

Introduction: Small-cell carcinomas arising in the gallbladder are extremely rare and aggressive tumors, which metastasize early, and have very poor prognosis. This histologic type of gallbladder carcinoma is more common in women than in men, usually coexists with lithiasis, and has a highly aggressive clinical behavior.
